In 2018, Anderson won the Spring Robinson poetic award for her poem “Unspoken Conversations” As an educator, Anderson wants to debunk gender hierarchy and let young people know that they have the power to own the trajectory of their lives. Therefore, they must operate from such an understanding. Anderson currently lives in Brooklyn, New York with her daughter.
